New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi is in a multi-year phase of growth. As
such, the University’s Program in Psychology invites applications for a
faculty position at the rank of assistant professor, tenure track, in the
areas of cognition and perception. Current research emphasizes memory,
language, visual cognition, and multisensory perception and action, but
work in all areas of in cognition and perception will be considered.
Faculty in the Program in Psychology also contribute to the
multidisciplinary research at NYU Abu Dhabi that is a hallmark of the
institution’s mission. Candidates are expected to be outstanding scholars
with exceptional productivity in their fields, and to act as inspirational
teachers and mentors to undergraduate and graduate students, which is a
cornerstone of the University’s mission.

NYU Abu Dhabi is located on Saadiyat Island, the cultural centerpiece of
Abu Dhabi. Successful candidates will find a vibrant research and teaching

state-of-the-art core technology platforms that include (1) a 3T Prisma
magnetic resonance imaging facility (MRI); (2) a 224 channel KIT
magnetoencephalography (MEG) facility equipped with a 32-electrode
electroencephalography (EEG) setup allowing concurrent MEG-EEG recordings;
(3) high performance computing facilities with more than 6,400 computing
cores and a peak performance of 70 TFLOPS; and (4) advanced DNA sequencing

The terms of employment are highly competitive. Appointments, which are
dependent on final budgetary approval, can begin as soon as September 1,
2019, but later start dates are possible. To be considered, applicants
