The Department of Psychology at McGill University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Cognitive Psychology with an anticipated starting date of September 1, 2019. The position may be in any sub-discipline of Cognitive Psychology or Cognitive Neuroscience. We seek applicants with an outstanding record of research in understanding cognitive systems using behavioral, neuroscientific, or computational methods. Preference will be given to applicants whose research makes use of cutting-edge techniques to understand behavior that have been developed in the fields of artificial intelligence or machine learning. Applicants are expected to have a doctorate in psychology, neuroscience, or closely related fields at the time of appointment. Applicants should show evidence of research productivity, the potential to obtain external funding, and a strong commitment to and aptitude for high quality teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

McGill is an international, research intensive university, with exceptional undergraduate and graduate students. Importantly, McGill is an English language institution; knowledge of French is not required but would be an asset.

Job Duties:
The successful applicant will be expected to develop a vigorous, externally-funded research program, to communicate research findings in both professional and public forums, to contribute to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to engage in service both within and outside the University.

Qualifications and Education requirements:
Applicants must have a PhD, or equivalent degree, and a record of research excellence. Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
