Dear Cog Sci members,

To celebrate the release of its new website, the MetaLab team with support of the Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS<http://bitss.org/>) is organizing a challenge for authors of meta-analyses on cognitive development. This challenge will offer a total of $3,000 US in cash prizes to authors who contribute their meta-analysis data to the MetaLab<http://metalab.stanford.edu/> database.

The conditions for the challenge are the following:

  * The meta-analysis should be on a topic relating to cognitive development, and contain data on infants and children up to 4 years old. It can be published or not.
  * Data contributed must follow the MetaLab format<http://metalab.stanford.edu/tutorials.html#Code_Existing_MA> to be eligible. If submission occurs before 30/03/2018, the MetaLab team can check and advise submitters.
  * The final contribution must occur before 30/06/2018.

Three prizes of $1,000 US will be awarded to the top contributions, determined by the number of correctly filled cells in MetaLab format. Double points will be awarded to those submissions that provide full documentation (all additional MetaLab spreadsheets including search protocol<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mtN4g6FddpBljQzrR-mS0y414M9wQNjK4Vz09nLOe2s/edit#gid=0>, codebook<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12Y_2BcFSu48t0F8a_xrY1Ro2fJoCIV1h8O627WNcrjY/edit#gid=1931065704> for all fields, and a PRISMA flowchart<http://prisma-statement.org/prismastatement/flowdiagram.aspx>, here is a template<https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1DKY8BTZZ82bGyGwpGsyyzsilOqE1F1NcDLTKWtCe9AY/edit#slide=id.p>). This rule might be of particular interest to those who work with a small number of eligible papers and thus potentially have fewer cells.

And beyond the cash prize, adding your meta-analysis to MetaLab can have several advantages both for you (more visibility for you and your meta-analysis), and the community (gaining a clearer view of the broader developmental picture). For more information, please read our tutorials<http://metalab.stanford.edu/tutorials.html> and our documentation<http://metalab.stanford.edu/documentation.html>.

If you wish to participate and have the possibility to modify your submission, please sign-up here<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScpgHVRy3zN-hbVq_yvndBeHSg1Q1pu87bP_c_xLAswLkJcrQ/viewform?usp=sf_link> before 30/03/2018.
