Leidos's Military & Veterans Solutions Health Group is currently seeking a full-time Cognitive Psychology Researcher with specialized background in fatigue to support research studies in Warfighter Performance. Work will take place in the Warfighter Performance Department at the Naval Health Research Center, San Diego, CA.



Duties and Responsibilities:



The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with investigators and lead research aimed at assessing physical and psychological performance of military personnel. The candidate will compete for both intramural and extramural funding. Specifically, this position will be responsible for developing new and innovative proposals and research projects; conducting previously approved research projects; managing the design and implementation of research projects; analyzing and evaluating research data and providing interpretations requiring significant knowledge of a specialized area of research; providing consultation on ongoing research studies; writing scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed professional journals; and presenting findings at national and international scientific conferences.



Qualifications:

Required Education & Experience: (1) Possess a Masters degree in psychology, doctoral degree preferred; (2) minimum 2 years of experience in a research environment, 4-6 years preferred; (3) demonstrated subject-matter expertise in a cognitive psychology area such as attention, memory, problem solving, or fatigue; (4) proven ability to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.



The candidate must possess the ability to interact positively and in a professional manner within a research-oriented environment, excellent critical thinking with problem-solving skills, and an ability to work cooperatively in a team setting. Flexibility in responding to changing demands, timelines, and priorities is also required. The candidate must be able to travel both locally, nationally, and internationally as needed. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and will be required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
